A group work created for the 50th Anniversary of Dance at Illinois, Oliver brought together 3 alums to dance with 3 BFA candidates in this 22 minute Afrofuturist meditation black girls creativity drawn from double dutch practices as life skills training. Divided by two distinct sections, the first using playful and boasting songs as the dancers cycle through demanding physical language, and the second a section whereby each dancer commands straps that both offer the possibility of tying them together or keeping them apart.
